Francisco Infante
The work of Francisco Infante plays an important role in the modern Russian art.
Infante is using different art styles of the second Russian avant-garde. On the one hand, he is the representative of the geometric direction in the art and hereby successor of the traditions of the Russian avant-garde. On the other hand, he is a kinetic artist for whom the movement is as important as geometric shapes – square, surface, line.
He also makes many performances in nature, present to us as artifacts – the creation of situations where the spectator feels if not as a participant, then at least as a witness. The artifacts of Infante are often geometric, and he attributes their origin to the experience of suprematistic and constructivist art of the Russian avant-garde.
